Cordica Medical Acquires RapidWerks Micro-Molding Capabilities
Cordica Medical has acquired the micro-molding capabilities of RapidWerks, expanding its precision manufacturing platform for next-generation medical devices. The acquisition adds fully automated micro-molding technology designed to support the production of highly precise, miniature components used in a range of medical applications.
According to the company, the acquisition strengthens its ability to manufacture micro-scale components with micron-level tolerances and process advanced materials such as PEEK and bioresorbable polymers. The added capabilities are expected to support growing demand for miniaturized medical devices used in interventional, cardiovascular, neurological, and critical care applications.
Cordica Medical stated that integrating RapidWerks’ expertise into its existing design and manufacturing platform will enable customers to move from product development to high-volume production through a single manufacturing partner. The acquisition also adds production capacity and advanced automation capabilities to support future growth.
Marshall White, Chief Executive Officer of Cordica Medical, said the addition of micro-molding capabilities represents an important step in the company’s technology roadmap and strengthens its vertically integrated manufacturing platform. RapidWerks founder Scott Herbert will join Cordica as part of the transaction.
