Clinical Considerations & Limitations
- The cardiovascular component's vasopressor-dose bands are simplified into categorical bands here for usability rather than exact mcg/kg/min thresholds.
- Renal component uses whichever of creatinine or oliguria gives the higher (worse) point score, per the original scoring convention.
- Scoring tables independently re-verified against Vincent 1996 during the STEP 4 QA review; a respiratory sub-score boundary bug (ventilation-dependent escalation applied one bracket too early) was found and fixed.
