Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced three new Orbitrap mass spectrometry platforms at the ASMS 2026 conference, extending high-resolution instrumentation across research, biopharmaceutical, and applied testing markets.
Thermo Fisher Scientific used the ASMS 2026 conference to unveil next-generation additions to its Orbitrap mass spectrometry line, including the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Tribrid Apex and Orbitrap Excedion instruments, aimed at accelerating the path from drug discovery to new therapies.
Alongside the new hardware, the company introduced AI-enabled software updates including Proteoform Studio, Proteome Discoverer 3.4, and BioPharma Finder 5.5, intended to speed up proteomics analysis and protein characterization workflows for research and biopharma customers.
The launches follow other 2026 announcements from Thermo Fisher, including the Glacios 3 Cryo-TEM electron microscope and new GMP monoclonal antibody manufacturing capacity coming online in Plainville, Massachusetts later this year.
